Founded in 1904, the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) is the global governing body for motor sport and a non-profit international member association. Headquartered in Paris and Geneva, the FIA unites 243 national motoring and sporting organisations from 147 countries across five continents, representing millions of motorists, mobility users, and motorsport professionals. One of the core responsibilities of the FIA is the development of motor sport worldwide. Through its national Members, the FIA is involved at all levels of motor sport, and its remit extends to the millions of amateurs and professionals who enjoy all of its varied disciplines. Beyond its role in motor sport governance, the FIA is dedicated to representing the rights and interests of motoring organisations, motorists, and road users globally. It advocates for critical issues such as road safety, mobility, sustainability, and consumer rights, engaging with international bodies like the United Nations and the European Union to drive impactful change.
