On 26 May 2021, the Graduate Institute inaugurates the Geneva debate under the theme « La Maison estime que: the state should make vaccination against Covid-19 a legal requirement for its residents. » Initiated by students, the Geneva debate seeks to become the space where the most pressing challenges are discussed, reflected and where solutions are exposed in front of a jury.

17 May 2021

In the framework of the series of discussions "Connect with the GENvironment, Friday conversations with an environmental expert," the Geneva Environment Network (GEN) invites you on 14 May to meet Alice Tipping, Lead, Fisheries Subsidies at the International Institute for Sustainable Development. Photographer Nanna Heitmann immortalized those fish caught by ice fishermen in 2019.

On 11 May 2021, to mark the 150th anniversary of the Central Tracing Agency (CTA), the ICRC and the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) organize the high-level online discussion "Transforming the global response for missing persons" with the participation of Ignazio Cassis, Federal Councilor, and head of the FDFA and Peter Maurer, President of the ICRC. This moving scene of a reunited family took place in July 2016 in the Makamba province, Burundi.

From 12 to 15 April 2021, the "Global Forum for Responsible Recruitment" will convene global players with a multi-sectoral approach to enhance fair, ethical, and responsible recruitment of migrant workers. On 22 March 2021, World Water Day, the Geneva Cities Hub and UN-Habitat organize, in collaboration with the Geneva Water Hub, the online debate "Water & Sanitation in the City: Good & Bad experiences, what are the lessons?" This high-level discussion is a first of a series entitled "Geneva Urban Debates". In 2017, Magnum photographer Alex Webb pictured this scene of swimmers in the Yangtze River in Chongqing, China.

From 24 February to 17 March, the exhibition "Palais des Nations: A Time for Reflection", co-organized by the Center of Photography Geneva (CPG) and the UN Geneva Perception Change Project, will be presented in the Geneva public display space.

On Wednesday, 3 March, the IUCN will host two Ministerial panels on Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for Recovery. Ten governments will join IUCN's Director-General, Dr. Bruno Oberle, to discuss the benefit of NbS for more sustainable and resilient societies. The scene above takes place in Greenland in 2008.

United Nations' highest body dedicated to the protection and promotion of Human Rights will notably address racism, poverty, children's rights, and the rights of people with disabilities. On 18 February 2021, the Geneva Internet Platform invites you to the 6th Geneva Engage Awards online ceremony. Besides the three prizes granted for social media outreach and online engagement, a new award will be given for innovative and effective approaches to conducting remote meetings.

On 10 February, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) and, World Health Organization (WHO) present a webinar on International instruments on the use of antimicrobials across the human, animal, and plant sectors. In 2017, the photojournalist Patrick Zachmann reported the work and lives of the Cambimba Village's farmers, Morroa, Colombia, supported by the FAO.

Based in Geneva, the International alliance for the protection of heritage in conflict areas (ALIPH) is the only global fund exclusively dedicated to the protection and rehabilitation of cultural heritage in conflict in post-conflict areas. After two years of operation, it is now financing over 100 projects in 22 countries for more than 35 million USD.
