The Geneva Peace Week will take place from 4 to 8 November 2019. Over 100 partners, including NGOs, International Organizations and Diplomatic Missions, will organize more than 70 events over five days, covering different angles and approaches to peacebuilding.

The International Labour Office (ILO)  will open its doors to the public for the first time in 100 years on Tuesday, 15 October. For one working day, the ILO invites you, in collaboration with the Fondation pour Genève, to discover its 100 years of action on the ground but also to dialogue together on the future of the world of work.

Can the financial sector help solve some of the major challenges world agriculture is facing ? This question, among others, will be debated during the Building Bridges Week that will take place in Geneva between 7 and 11 October 2019. Building Bridges Week's objective is to foster new conversations and collaborations that will accelerate the finance industry’s contribution to the achievement of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. From 5 October 2019 to 1 March 2020, the Bodmer Foundation presents the War and Peace exhibition, organized in partnership with the UNOG and the ICRC. Trough the rare items from the patrimonies of the Bodmer Foundation and the partner institutions, the exhibition aims to inform visitors on the everlasting dialogue between man’s warlike nature and his deep desire for peace.

To mark the 70th anniversary of the Geneva Conventions, the ICRC organizes “Voices from the field”. On 18 September, humanitarian workers and victims of armed conflicts will share some stories of how international humanitarian law (IHL) has had a positive impact. This image shows the ICRC leading a role-playing session to explain the rules of IHL to national guards in San Salvador, Salvador in 1988.

Almost 30 years after the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989, its Committee will hold its 82nd session from 9 to 27 September at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) at Palais Wilson.

The Ninth Meeting of States Parties (9MSP) to the Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM) will be held from 2 to 4 September 2019 in Room XX at the Palais des Nations. The photojournalist and TED member Laura Boushnak spent over 10 years documenting the survivors of cluster bombs.
