"PBI is an international NGO that has been promoting nonviolence and protecting human rights since 1981. The mandate of PBI is to create space for peace and to protect human rights. It primarily does this by sending international volunteers to areas of conflict, who then provide protective, non-violent accompaniment to human rights defenders at risk."
