CERN opens its doors for Researchers' Night.
Researchers' Night at CERN, a free and fun bilingual event, will happen this year on Friday, 28 September 2018. This is the ninth year that the world's largest particle physics laboratory has opened its doors to the public for this great European celebration of science. In 2017, it attracted more than a thousand visitors. This year, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., the event will offer even more animations to familiarize the public with its activities.

Prix Nicolas Bouvier à la fête de la presse et de la communication
Le 29 août 2018 a eu lieu, à la Pastorale, la 21ème édition de la fête de la presse et de la communication au Club suisse de la presse. A cette occasion le jury du Prix Nicolas Bouvier a décerné, pour sa 4ème édition, sept prix qui récompensent les meilleures contributions journalistiques liées à la Genève internationale.

The UN Human Rights Office (OHCHR) will open its Geneva headquarters, Palais Wilson, to the public on Saturday 16 June; from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The day will be an occasion to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the 25th anniversary of the creation of the OHCHR. It will be dedicated to the efforts of human rights defenders, civil society actors and everyone around the world who work to defend and promote the principles of the Declaration.

UEFA and UNOG are joining forces to organise a charity football match.
"The Match for Solidarity" will involve two teams featuring former star players and will take place on Saturday 21 April 2018 at 16.00 CET at the Stade de Genève. The two teams will be managed by Carlo Ancelotti and Didier Deschamps, and will be captained by Luís Figo and Ronaldinho respectively.

The UN Internet Governance Forum (IGF) is the world's largest neutral multistakeholder forum that promotes discussion and dialogue on digitisation. It was convened for the first time in 2006 by the UN Secretary-General. Since then, every year 2000 to 3000 representatives from governments, international organizations, business, civil society, the technical sector and academia from all over the world participate in the IGF. The program is defined by the wider internet community through a "bottom-up" process.
